concept of cloud computing

concept of cloud computing

Well, its great possibility you might heard this mysterious word “cloud computing” but what cloud computing really is? If you don’t know the answer then doesn’t worry, in this particular post I’m going to tell all about this. Actually a few years before cloud computing is nothing more than a buzz word which only used by computer scientist , engineers and geeks but now today its well-known, you can hear this word everywhere. Even, now smart phones uses cloud computing apps (like skydive) to store your personal data.
Basically, Cloud computing is all about of using the resources of remote machine over a network. let me explain this in detail, in cloud computing the user needs to load a kind of program on their hard drives on local computer(computer which is normally used by user ) so this software allows the user to login in web-based service which host all the software’s which user needs to operate with. Remote machines (computers but reside other side of network) contains any kind of software from e-mail to word processing software to complex computational software. This is what we call as cloud computing. Tack my words, this is the very big thing and will definitely change the computer industry. Cloud computing actually share some sort of similarities with old time-sharing systems, in time-sharing system multiple user connects to central computer to use their computing power, so the central computer do all the computing of all other users.
In cloud computing the local computer do nothing just running the OS (operating system) and the web-based service utility to connect to remote machine of the company from where the user purchased cloud computing service. The complex work loads of computer completely shift to remote machine. This means that all of your computations and application are stored and run on remote machines. This gives the huge advantage to company owners so that they don’t need to spend a lot on hardware and software. consider a case, if a company is growing day by day and day by day the company needs to purchase license software each time in order to run their computers, This costs a lot even to big companies, so the cloud computing is a lot helpful to larger companies by this they don’t need to purchase software they want to run, they just purchase cloud computing service from a company and that company will provide their services in terms of software and storage.
So you use cloud computing or not? I know, right now you may question yourself by asking that I didn’t hear this mysterious word before and this strange writer asking me about i use it or not, its o.k. but its great possibility that you may use it. so let me explain, when you open your yahoo mail account by mean of web-browser without using any third-party of software actually right that time you are using the cloud computing service of yahoo, you send and receive your mails by using browser and those mails doesn’t physical stored on your local computer hard drive, those mail actually stored on remote machines of yahoo and all the rest of processing relating to receiving , sending and storing of mails done by remote machines so this is cloud computing.
If we examine cloud computing, we came to know that it consist of two ends which is known as Front end and Back end. Front end is of user end which consist of local computer by using this computer the user access their desired application and do their desired work. As far back end is concern, the back end consist of remote machines and storage devices which done the actual processing on users data. A central computer known as server looks after of every single operation so that the entire network runs smoothly. Most of the time the servers don’t run on their full capacity due to that their processing power goings to waste, to overcome this situation and to use the full possible power of a server, we can make the server fool so that the server think he consist of two separate servers running separate operating systems. This is what we called “server virtualization”. Cloud computing needs double of storage devices because they create backup of their clients(users) data, if due to some reasons they lost the data stored still they have the backup of that data this thing is known as redundancy.
Cloud computing provides many advantages, some of are given below
By using cloud computing the cost of hardware dramatically down. The clients don’t need to have too much storage space because all the data of clients store on remote machine.
Clients can access their data any where they like to. This feature provides some sort of portability because the data is not store on local hard drive of computer. Actually data is store on remote machine of cloud computing service providing company which is connected by internet

As cloud computing provides some cool features it also has some security and privacy concerns
as we know that the data is store on remote machine of cloud computing service providing company, so the biggest concerns is security of the clients data therefore most of the clients hesitate to get advantage of cloud computing technology.
