When you're using a pen drive to transfer data between PCs, the common problem is viruses. You might format your pen drive many times because of viruses. Here I'll give you a solution to format your USB pen drive completely.

You can format pen drives using command prompt to remove all the virus files permanently. Most of the times these type of formats delete all the viruses from pen drive.

So let's see how to format your pen drive using command prompt.

Insert pen drive into your PC

Find the drive letter of the pen drive

Now click on Start ---> Run

In run box, type cmd and hit Enter

Now command prompt will appear, in this window type format "your pen drive letter:"

For example type : format g:

Hit Enter twice

Wait for sometime until command prompt verify the file system.

Now command prompt will ask you to enter a drive name.

After that type the drive name and then hit Enter again.

That's all, you have done !!!

SkyDrive is new and free cloud service provided by the Microsoft. SkyDrive Windows 8 Metro app merges the SkyDrive and Windows Live, Microsoft’s Web-Based synchronization service. SkyDrive is a free file hosting service which enables the Microsoft Windows users to store data on it instead of storing it in their local machines. It offers maximum of 25GB free space..

Users can also mark there stored data as Private, share them with contacts or Public. If a user is keeping all his files Private then no one else be able to view his uploaded files. If a user is sharing his files with his contacts then only the friends present in the contact list will able to view the files. But each friend has to login to their Windows Live Account to view the files shared by their friends. If anyone is sharing his files publically then everyone on the SkyDrive will able to view the files even without login to their Windows Live Account.

Windows 8 SkyDrive Metro App is a blessing for users who are fed up by file size restrictions of Gmail, Yahoo etc that a user encountered while sending email attachments i.e. now there is no need to send an e-mail with attachments, just share the folder or file with your friend, user can share any extension file be it an .exe file or even folders which was the major drawbacks in Gmail, Yahoo and many other E-mail services. It also allows the users to upload an individual 2GB file whereas maximum of 25MB file can be sent in Gmail, Yahoo.

SkyDrive is like dropbox but it has some advance features i.e It has 25GB storage space while in dropbox only 2GB storage space is available. SkyDrive allows its users to keep their files private or public but in drop box all the files uploaded are public which are visible to everyone.

Steps :
start > run >eventvwr.msc

Events are stored in three log files: Application, Security, and System.

These logs can be reviewed and archived.

For our purposes we want the System log. Click on "System" in the left-hand column for a list of events.

Look for a date and time when you weren't home and your computer should have been off.

double click on the eg: info and it will show you the detail.

You can also use this log to see how long someone was on the computer.

Just look at the time the computer was turned on and off for that day.

* Please download the Angry IP Scanner from here http://www.angryip.org/w/Download. This is a simple tool that scans for a range of Live IP Addresses and identifies user specified open ports.
(This doesn’t require any installation guys. Just download and run it.)

* When you open the tool you can see options to set IP ranges for scanning.

* Just go to Google and Search for your IP Address. You will get your IP address in this links:
- www.cmyip.com
- www.geobytes.com
- www.iplocator.com

* Enter your IP address in the starting field and in the finishing field. This will sure take a lot of time to scan the whole range but will increase the probability of finding more vulnerable cams.

* Next is to specify a Port so that the Angry IP Scanner will ping each IP to find out if that port is open, Go to Tools > Preferences > Ports tab. In Port selection enter the port number you want to scan. I noticed that in my locality most of them are using HIK Vision Digital Video Recorder. This device uses the port 8000. So I’m entered port 8000 in the text box.

* If you want to scan multiple ports you can enter port number separated by commas. After entering the port number go to Display tab. This where you can customize the results displayed. By default All Scanned Hosts will be checked. In this mode all Dead IP wil be displayed in Red, Alive in Blue and Open Ports in Green. So I recommend to select Hosts with open ports only so that you need not scroll through the entire ocean of Dead and Alive IPs. Once done click OK.

* Now click on Start button and wait for sometime. If you have selected All Scanned Hosts in Display tab, you would have seen individual IP being scanned and listed.

* If targets are shown. Just right click on the IP Address to copy it.

* Paste the link in the Address Bar of your Internet Explorer and hit Enter. Success!!! It loads the login page. As expected its the login page of HIK VISION DVR. The reason why we are using IE is that the ActiveX designed to handled these pages can work only with IE. Even in IE sometimes you will have to wait for the prompt to install ActiveX Control for HIK Vision. If your IE blocks the addon, watch this video http://youtu.be/RymqP4uDC9U to enable it. (or Google ‘enabling unsigned activex control in IE’)

* Here is the trick. Most of the targets after installing their networked DVR, they fail to change their credentials from the default one provided by the manufacturer. So for HIK VISION the default username : admin and password : 12345

* If you come across a different manufacturer you can just Google the name of the manufacturer with term ‘default password’ to find out the default credentials.

Windows Vista and 7 user may get problem doing so because Administrative account is locked. To enable Admin account open command prompt and type following command,

C:\>net user administrator /active:yes

This will activate administrative account now log of and log in to administrative account and complete the hack.

Once done start IDM and it will be working as full version and will also get updated. Now one more thing someday IDM will surely patch this vulnerability so it is advised you not to update unless there is critical need otherwise your IDM may get blocked and will never get installed as full version again.
